Laura Camp – Fitness Instructor
5 years ago I weighed 23 stone and after years and years of yo yo dieting on the latest fad diet I had reached a point in my life where it had to change. I did not have the knowledge about nutrition, the body, fitness and certainly did not have the confidence to reach out for help and so I chose to have a weight loss operation.
I do not regret my decision, I do regret not knowing what I know now and that is why following the operation I wanted to learn more so that I would be able to help people from all walks of life, all fitness levels, whether like me people were at that life changing point in life or just to maintain a healthy and happy lifestyle and do it without such drastic action and so I signed up for my level 2 gym instructor course and the rest as they say is history.
Since passing my level 2 I started working at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre in the gym and now teach two Les Mills programmes, Body Attack and Body Vive and am qualified to take spinning classes and occasionally help out with School spinning classes.
In my personal life I have skydived, climbed Mount Toubkal, Mount Kilimanjaro, trekked across the Sahara, co-organised my own fitness event and completed the London marathon all in the name of charity which I absolutely love to do. I love the personal challenges and knowing that I am helping people by doing it is just the cherry on top.
My real passion however is health and fitness and I love being part of someone’s journey and seeing the progression and results from my classes. I feel very lucky that I am able to bring my passion to you whether its classes or one to one sessions and I hope to be able to inspire and to continue to be inspired by you.
